Venice....

Kenny and I took a quick trip to Venice…and it was an experience. We took the Eurostar train which takes about 3 hours to get there. After checking into our hotel and getting a bite to eat we decided to be a tourist and take a gondola ride . We had a great time on the boat and the weather was beautiful.

Unfortunately while trying to get some cash from our credit card, we found out someone had been taking cash advances from our card in rome…so our credit card company shut our card down and left us with no card and about $50 Euro. So that night we found $1.50 Euro pizza and just looked at all the shops. The next morning after multiple Western Union problems we finally got some Euro transferred.

Overall Venice has been my favorite city….very cool!

Tomorrow we head back to Rome and will be taking a day trip to Pompei. Only a few more days of our trip left…so we need to enjoy them! =)

Ciao Ciao!

Tuscany Wine Tasting

Tuscany Wine Tasting Day-

What a great day! We started at a Casa Emma where we got a tour of the facility and then sat down for a small wine tasting. We learned about the Chianti Grape Region and tried a few different wines: Chianti Classico, Chanti Classico Reserve, and Super Tuscan.

Then we headed over to San Gimignano Region and went to a wine tasting at torciano. This was a crazy event. The fed us 3 courses of food( which was awesome) and over 10 types of wines. By the end we were all "happy customers." www.torciano.com

After all our wine drinking we went back to florence and took a trip to the School of Leather. The school is in an old church called Santa Croce. Below i posted a picture of them engraving initials on the leather. Very beautiful things!! Here is the website: www.leatherschool.com

Tommorow Kenny and I are going to take a quick one night trip to Venice...hopefully its as romantical as everyone says! =)

Leaving Rome...off to Florence!

We had another tour with Francesco today…and it was the best one! We drove about 60 minutes outside of Rome to the village of Overtia. We spent the afternoon walking around the town, shopping, and taking pictures outside a beautiful church.

The next stop was for lunch. Francesco told us to eat a light lunch…but we were shocked with how much food they gave us. We prob ate 10-12 different courses of food. The cook gave us a sampler of all different meats, cheeses, etc. Then they ended the meal with Tiramisu.

Our final stop of the tour was to a small village called Civita di Bagnoregio which only has about 20 people living in it. To get to the town you have to walk up a very steep winding road(pic below). We all made it to the top of the town…with a few stops along the way up. It was a very cool town! We got the chance to taste some of the best olive oil we have ever eaten.

Tonight we walked around Rome for a while and window shopped. Valenino, Gucci, D & G, were just some of the shops we looked into it…but knew we couldn’t afford to walk into! After that we ate at a restaurant outside and enjoyed some Cosmo’s and Beer for the guys.

Carter was in great mood today…just went to bed about 15 minutes ago. Kenny has been teaching him how to wave and to "try and crawl", and we have gotten Carter laughing a bunch the last few nights. It’s fun to see his personality start to come out

We leave for Florence in the AM so I am off to bed

Ready for the tour!!
